Here comes a new electron‐accepting unit for nonfullerene acceptor materials in organic photovoltaics: naphtho[1,2‐c:5,6‐c']bis[1,2,5]thiadiazole (NTz). As shown by Y. Ie, Y. Aso, and co‐workers on page 1161, an NTz‐containing π‐conjugated compound (NTz‐Np) exhibits superior photovoltaic characteristics compared to a corresponding benzothiadiazole‐containing compound. Bulk‐heterojunction solar cells based on NTz‐Np with poly(3‐hexylthiophene) (P3HT) as a donor accomplished high power conversion efficiencies of up to 2.81%.
