Functionally graded polymer foams are of great interest for safety components or interfacial tissue engineering. However, most production methods lack control of the pore size. With the microfluidic technique we are able to introduce a defined pore size gradient in polymer foams using foamed emulsions and emulsions, respectively, as templates.
