(Ni–Fe)–Graphene composite coatings have been prepared on the stainless steel substrate using electro‐deposition technique. The mechanical properties are investigated by hardness and nano‐indentation tests and have shown that compared with uncoated substrate, substrate coated with (Ni–Fe)–Graphene composite coatings exhibits the maximum enhancement of threefold in hardness and 14.9% improvement in elastic modulus. The characterization results of morphology and microstructure with scanning electron microscopy (SEM), energy diffraction spectrum (EDS), as well as X‐ray diffraction (XRD) have demonstrated that Graphene Nano‐platelets wrapped by Ni–Fe crystalline grains are embedded into the matrix metal acting as an effective reinforcement.
