Shown is a microstructure resulting from a 3D phase field simulation of Reactive Air Brazing, just when the spherical CuO particles are overgrown by the solid silver phase. Colors distinguish different grains, liquid is transparent. This grain representation is used for the homogenization of the microstructure in order to predict effective thermal expansion coefficients and volumetric eigenstrains.
