Intermetallic γ‐TiAl‐based alloys are promising materials for light‐weight structures in high‐temperature application. Their material properties are highly dependent on the microstructural evolution during heat treatments. High‐temperature laser‐scanning confocal microscopy (HTLSCM) is applied for studying grain growth in the single β phase region and β to α phase transformation allowing for the in situ visualization of the microstructural evolution.
