This review gives an overview of the field of low‐density (<6 g cm −3 ) bulk metallic glasses/composites and their potential engineering and space applications. The review focuses on four systems, Al‐, Mg‐, Ca‐, and Ti‐based metallic glass‐forming systems. In the following sections, glass forming ability, mechanical properties, thermal stability, and corrosion resistance of the four metallic glass systems and their composites are presented.
