Dealing with foam structures, some kinds of computer simulations require accurate volumetric models for high quality results. Those simulations require a large computational effort. For simplification often less complex models like beam models are used. The present work analyses the differences of effective elastic properties between accurate volumetric models and corresponding beam models of a Kelvin cell. Furthermore, the influence of certain foam geometry details on the elastic properties beside the relative density is shown.
