Methods of generating and validating 3D models of microporous ceramics and computing the porosity and permeability by means of these models are presented. For five cordierite ceramic variants from the application area of diesel particulate filters, generated structure models with computed porosities and permeabilities are depicted. The generated pore structures are compared to the real structures by the chord length distribution. Furthermore, the computed porosities and permeabilities are compared to measurements.
