Hierarchical structures resulting from the combination of interfering laser beams, and laser‐induced periodical surface structure (LIPSS) where fabricated on an Al layer over Au‐substrate using 355 nm laser irradiation. The effect of beam polarization and number of laser pulses hitting the sample are described.
