For the first time, the influence of equal channel angular pressing (ECAP) die outer corner angle on flow and strain homogeneity was analyzed by simulations and experiments, with ECAP dies of different outer corner angles, ψ = 0, 22, 60 and 90°, with a fixed channel angle of φ = 90°. Results showed that it is impossible to achieve flow and strain homogeneity with large outer corner angle dies of 60 and 90°.
