Plastics reinforced with natural fibers became much important in automotive industry for manufacturing light‐weight and rigid inner linings. However, these applications should meet the high requirements regarding impact resistance as well. Composites reinforced with natural fibres offered deficits in many cases. Fundamental investigations carried out with different natural fibre composites could reveal essential correlations and reasons in theory and in experiments regarding impact resistance lowering.
