What are the orientation relations between parent and inherited phase in the phase transformation of HSLA steel? The authors show two methods two answer this problem: a direct method measures the misorientation between ferritic and residual austenitic phase (the Figure shows an austenite grain surrounded by four ferrite grains), while the second method compares the experimental misorientations between the NW and KS variants with theoretically calculated ones. Both methods use local orientation data obtained by the ESBD technique.
