At a Senate hearing July 20, the federal government mapped out its plans for harm‐reduction organizations as coordinators with treatment on behalf of drug users, mainly through peers. Regina M. LaBelle, acting director of the Office of National Drug Control Policy (ONDCP), before the Caucus on International Narcotics Control, praised “engagement between harm‐reduction staff and people who use drugs” as building trust. Her statement included footnotes showing that the policy is based on evidence (see below for the list).
