Last month, the federal Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommended that all health care professionals be offered the first doses of COVID‐19 vaccines. Addiction treatment providers are essential health care staff, and they work with individuals at high risk for contracting the disease, a federal report from the CDC and the federal National Institute on Drug Abuse report published in the Journal of the American Medical Association last fall found.
