The alcohol research community likely will breathe a collective sigh of relief over new research findings showing that in‐laboratory measures of drinking are largely in concordance with self‐reported drinking levels. These findings help to validate alcohol self‐administration paradigms that are widely used in the development of alcohol treatment approaches.
