At a time when the most time‐honored component of addiction recovery support has had to suspend traditional operations and establish connection in a new way, leaders have become keenly interested in whether virtual recovery meetings can duplicate the meaningful interaction of the in‐person group. It could take years to see sound data that illustrates the precise impact of virtual support groups, but anecdotal information suggests some challenges and a few bright spots.
