Workforce shortages, stigma, financial barriers and policy obstacles are standing in the way of integrating services for opioid use disorder (OUD) and infectious diseases, even though these two epidemics are co‐occurring and related, according to a report issued last month by the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine (NASEM).
