Hangovers are not a joke. They can be painful and dangerous, and the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism (NIAAA) doesn't stint on advice as the holidays are approaching. During a hangover – we're not talking about actually being drunk – your attention, decision‐making, and muscle coordination can be impaired, as can the ability to drive.
