A proposed U.S. House resolution of a few paragraphs likely won't steal the spotlight from a bitter congressional divide or a simmering presidential campaign this summer, but advocates in the substance use treatment community hope it will lay the foundation for a greater recognition of the addiction counseling profession's needs via a number of legislative vehicles.
