The National Association of Addiction Treatment Providers (NAATP) has announced that as of Jan. 1, 2019, continued membership will require accreditation by a recognized accrediting body, and new members will be required to demonstrate accreditation. The NAATP board of directors and membership at large overwhelmingly approved this measure earlier this year, according to NAATP. Most of the 900 NAATP members are already accredited; those who are not will be granted provisional status and given two years to obtain accreditation.
