Jeremy Melvin examines the work of a London‐based, South‐African‐born partnership, whose first commission was for an art gallery in Durban. He discovers how Cindy Walters and Michál Cohen are now able, in the UK, to put to good use the analytical skills wrought out of an atmosphere of political instability and uncertainty in their home country ‐ a background that has enabled them to work fruitfully with the British policy‐making establishment of government and the old‐school establishment at Bedales.
