With the strictures of Modernism behind us, the possibilities of ornament are being rediscovered, but often in a vacuum without method or understanding. Oliver Domeisen describes how in diploma units at the Architectural Association in London ornament is being pursued with a purpose as contemporary digital design and construction techniques are fused with an awareness of grammar and definition.
