The harbour town of Saint‐Nazaire on the Atlantic coast of Brittany in northern France remains divided both by its memories and its built environment. Manuel de Solá‐Morales describes how his Ville‐Port project seeks to address the structural, visual and mnemonic divisions that have grown up over time between a working port and seaside resort.
