The mixing of uses in a single building or collection of buildings can function as an urban catalyst, activating regenerations to the city fabric around it. Doojin Hwang Architects’ Choonwondang Hospital of Korean Medicine, Seoul, is a good example. The hospital accommodates a medical centre, museum of traditional Korean medicine and pharmaceutical herbal laboratory with back‐of‐house functions clearly visible to visitors. Doojin Hwang takes us through it.
