Since it was founded in 1972, the Southern California Institute of Architecture (SCI‐Arc) in Los Angeles has been one of a small cohort of peers at the forefront of progressive schools of architecture. This is an environment where everything is questioned and nothing taken for granted – a fecund, inventive and highly productive breeding ground for new architectures. Graduate Programs Chair Elena Manferdini proffers some of its recent graduate schemes and outlines its pedagogic philosophy.
