Purely ocular‐centric perception is still dominant in architectural creation. Decrying the narrowness of this approach, Finnish architect, writer and educator Juhani Pallasmaa argues for a more holistic appreciation of architecture as a way of communicating the power and embodied experience of the built environment through all the body's senses.
