Over a century after the box became a staple of avant‐garde art and design, can it still be a useful tool for pioneering projects today? Architectural and structural engineer Lei Zheng , of Zaha Hadid Architects in London, explores its relevance to the Discrete generation, in the light of the shift from smoothness to aggregation demonstrated by the ‘Meta‐Utopia’ exhibition which she recently curated at the firm's gallery.
