The synthesis of mechanical ideas and forms with the organic has long been central to the Surrealist project. Famed for his work on the 1979 film Alien , Swiss artist Hans Ruedi Giger epitomises this approach – as supremely demonstrated by his biomechanoid Museum Bar in Gruyéres, Switzerland.
