Architect Defne Sunguroğlu Hensel and engineer Guillem Baraut Bover describe the Nested Catenaries design and construction system they have developed as part of a research project at the Oslo School of Architecture and Design (AHO). They explain how their innovative development of an unreinforced masonry shell structure made up of a single layer of bricks is informed by ancient building traditions and has been further evolved to be attuned to local context.
