SUMMARY In this paper, the problem of guaranteed cost control for networked control systems is addressed by using delta operator Kalman filter approach. To cope with network‐induced delays and packet dropout, we take into account the quality‐of‐service of networks. The networked control system is described as a kind of delayed Markovian jump delta operator systems. Sufficient conditions for the solvability of underlying problem are derived in terms of linear matrix inequalities. A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the developed techniques. Copyright © 2012 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.
