In this study, the rotational embedment mechanism of traditional wooden struts is analyzed on the basis of loading tests on struts. The formulation of the restoring force characteristics of traditional wooden struts is established by the Elasto‐plastic Pasternak Model proposed by the authors. It is then discussed and verified using the rotational embedment test results of the struts.
