Grape berry development is a highly coordinated process. Herein, phenotypic and transcriptomic patterns of Victoria and Flame Seedless varieties were analyzed during berry development. Physiologically, VT berry size was larger than the FS variety, but FS contained higher levels of soluble solids at maturity. Furthermore, we examine genes that have significance in berry development, ripening, and sugar accumulation for the two varieties.
