Summary A series of novel high boost DC‐DC conversion circuits was designed and compared in their performances (input and output common ground, input current pulsation, voltage gain, etc). One of the designed conversion circuits is called the high step‐up inductor‐capacitor (HS‐LC) conversion circuit, which has been analyzed as an example. The HS‐LC conversion circuit is composed of one switch, two inductors, two capacitors, and six diodes. The relationship between the input and the output voltage of the HS‐LC conversion circuit in continuous‐conduction mode (CCM) is derived, and the parameter design criteria for the inductors and capacitors are listed. Theoretical comparison analysis of HS‐LC conversion circuit shows that it has the advantages of higher conversion gain, lower switching stress, and lower inductor current ripple. Finally, a practical circuit was built to verify the theoretical analysis.
