Last week NASA launched a new satellite to study atmospheric carbon dioxide (CO 2 ). Once in orbit, the Orbiting Carbon Observatory‐2 (OCO‐2) satellite, launched from Vandenberg Air Force Base in California, will take more than 100,000 individual measurements of atmospheric CO 2 per day.
