The formation of nanophases in a coarse‐grained alloy by electropulsing was reported recently. In this communication, the authors present experimental observations on the refinement of TiC particles in a conventional TiC p ‐reinforced NiCr alloy by applying high current density electropulsing. Their results indicate that high current‐density electropulsing offers a new approach to in situ synthesis of orientated nanostructured ceramic phases.
