Material selection requires a database of materials, set of requirements and methodology. In a commonly used databases it is possible to perform selection with polymeric composites. The authors developed a technique based on genetic algorithms to select the components of a composite: the matrix, the reinforcement, the architecture, the volume fraction with an attention paid to the process.
