A solution of sodium in liquid ammonia reacts with Sb 2 S 3 to form large colorless crystals of the composition Na 3 SbS 3 ⋅10 NH 3 . The trigonal‐pyramidal SbS 3 3− anion is ion‐paired with three Na + counter ions, the coordination spheres of which are completed by eight ammine ligands. The resulting neutral [Na(NH 3 ) 3 ] 2 [Na(NH 3 ) 2 ]SbS 3 molecules crystallize together with two ammonia molecules of solvation in the space group P 2 1 / c ( a =9.828(2), b =6.0702(4), c =33.4377(6) Å, β =91.362(7)°, V =1994.2(5) Å 3 , Z =4).
