Many different procedures exist for the production of connections between tubes and tubesheets. As well as welding of the tubes, and rolling of the tubes, hydraulic expansion of the tubes is also employed. By numerical simulation using the finite element method (FEM), the process of hydraulic expansion with subsequent superposition of thermal stress may be computed.
