Loop reactors are especially convenient for fluid systems requiring defined flow conditions in the whole reactional zone. Torus reactors are submitted to a directed circulation achieved by a propeller. The flow characteristics and axial dispersion are analyzed in rectangular and circular loop reactors. The power consumption and the heat transfer capacity in torus reactors are also determined.
