Investigations with acrolien and methacrolein at Mo/V‐mixed oxides revealed that this solid‐phase system is very suitable for the partial oxidation of both educts to the corresponding carboxylic acids. This work studies the applicability of Mo/V‐mixed oxides for the partial oxidation of isobutyraldehyde to methacrolein and compares the results with the catalytic performance of a heteropolyacid‐catalyst.
