The flow of fluids through porous media can be used as a viscometer. In this study, it was investigated if typical rheometric experiments to measure the elasticity of a fluid can also be done in porous media flow. Here, the main focus lies on the step‐strain test. For the set‐up it was found that the time delay measured in porous media flow exceeds the one measured with a commercial rheometer.
