The present contribution describes a straightforward method for a gas‐chromatographic determination of NO x related to catalytic tests of the selective catalytic reduction in O 2 ‐containing feeds. The method includes a catalytic conversion of NO x to N 2 in the inlet gas before gas‐chromatographic analysis, and the recording of N 2 (instead of NO x ) which is one of the components included in product analysis anyway. This simplifies the N mass balance of the NO x conversion by selective catalytic reaction and enhances the reliability of the catalyst evaluation.
