Differential circulation reactors with internal mixing are commonly used to determine chemical kinetic data for heterogeneous catalytic reactors. However, the fluid dynamic behavior of differential circulation reactors with internal mixing should be characterized through retention time examinations without any reaction, before these kinetic data are collected; this avoids any distortions of the measured data.
