Adsorption processes play an important role in a large number of applications. For the design of adsorbers, reliable information is required on the adsorption equilibrium and on the transport of heat and matter within the given adsorbent under the chosen operating conditions. There are useful model equations to describe the transport processes within packed beds. However, there is presently no model for the theoretical description of adsorption equilibria, especially for mixtures.
