In this contribution, the application of simulated moving‐bed (SMB) chromatography for the resolution of two racemic mixtures is described. The procedure is based on a modified equilibrium‐dispersion model that can efficiently be solved by a suitable numerical method. Between the model predictions and the experimental findings a satisfactory agreement was observed for both chromatographic systems under various process conditions.
