The physical modeling and numerical simulation of condensing flows is very advanced, whereas the simulation of cavitation still suffers from the lack of reliable models. Therefore, the primary aim of this comparison is to study how far the physical and numerical modeling of condensing flows can be used to develop a cavitation model. The authors present the numerical results obtained with a newly derived cavitation model.
