Kinetics of the surface redox reaction of cinnoline (1,2‐benzodiazine) adsorbed on mercury is measured by square‐wave voltammetry. In 0.9 mol/L KNO 3 buffered to pH 9.2, 7 and 4.65, the standard reaction rate constants of the redox couple cinnoline/1,2‐dihydrocinnoline are k s =65±25 s −1 , 455±110 s −1 and 300±75 s −1 , respectively.
