The determination of total and mobile arsenic contents in soils using cathodic stripping voltammetry on hanging mercury drop electrode and atomic absorption spectrometry with electrothermal atomization is presented. For total arsenic determination microwave digestion with different acid mixtures was investigated and recovery of arsenic was discussed. To assess metals availability from soils the single extraction procedure by 0.43 mol L −1 CH 3 COOH proposed by BCR was applied. Obtained results were validated by analysis of certified reference material.
