Tetrakis‐ tert ‐butylphthalocyanates of Al(III), Sn(IV), Cu(II), Lu(III) and Dy(III) were tested as the reagents for plasticized membrane salicylate selective electrodes. The most significant deviation of potentiometric selectivity from the Hofmeister series is observed for the membranes doped with Al(III) complex. The different mechanisms are suggested for the carriers containing different central ion, on the basis of the influence of lipophilic additives and the liquid–liquid extraction data.
