Titania nanotubule arrays on glass (see Figure) possessing large surface areas have been fabricated by combining aluminum anodization with a sol–gel process. Additionally, it has been confirmed that adding appropriate amounts of SiO 2 and TeO 2 to TiO 2 leads to a higher photocatalytic activity than when pure TiO 2 is used. This approach may also be used to fabricate other integrated nanostructures on glass for many applications.
